This year’s Remembrancetide events begin on Friday 30th October with our annual Street collection which continues on Saturday. Our
Festival of Remembrance this year is being held at the
Woodmead Hall on Saturday 31st October at 7.30 p.m. Please make a note of the change of venue and day. We hope this change will encourage you to attend in view of the parking facilities.
The Festival will be compered by Lt. Cdr. David Manners who introduces some familiar and unfamiliar faces to our production, including the Lymelights Theatre School, Nicky Harwood, Brian Rattenbury, Lyme Regis Lifeboat Crew and of course Lyme Regis Town Band.
Tickets are this year £3 and are available on the door or at Cauli & Flowers, Broad Street.
All of us have seen the emotional TV images of our servicemen’s bodies being repatriated at RAF Lyneham and the dignified response from the people of Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire. Every town, I’m sure, feels the same when they see such images and Lyme Regis’ Festival of Remembrance is one of our ways of showing our respect for all servicemen and women both past and present.
I encourage all people in our community to come and fly the flag on Saturday October 31st. “
OUR FORCES DESERVE YOUR SUPPORT”.
